BEFORE SURGERY ----->
{row 2} Dr Womack tried to stretch the ligaments and reposition the tibia tarsus and the femur and get things righted back into place but came out after an hour and told us he had to open the leg and separate the bones that the tissue had tried to fuse together. 10 sutures to close.
{row 3} Em standing 12 hours after surgery . She was quite weak when I brought her home. She is on antibiotics to combat infection and is improving daily. Dr. Ed did take some digital pix and should be sending them to me shortly if they turned out in the new camera.
Friday 06-07 a recheck.. Emily PREENED OFF her rubber bands that are attached to the pins keeping the leg flexed. Things are looking very good with her. How about the big green bruise! The worry was the pins would slip out but upon check today Dr. Ed found the pins very stable. Pins anchored well in her bone and are quite secure so far.
Description: 4 ss pins <nails> two in each bone. The pins are poking out of the leg and 2 tightly wound rubber bands are counter weighted and cross connected holding the leg flexed in the proper position.
